Melanie Alvord

Melanie Alvord is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in federal affairs and government relations. Currently serving as the Director of Federal Affairs at the Texas Department of Transportation since January 2012, Melanie has held multiple significant roles, including Director of Global Government Affairs at Motorola Solutions and Professional Staff for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Melanie's expertise in policy and communications has been further honed through positions such as Policy Advisor and Director of External Relations for U.S. Senator Ted Stevens, Assistant Administrator for Communications at DOT/FAA, and various roles with the Senate Commerce and Appropriations Committees. Melanie holds a BA in American Government from the University of Virginia and a Certificate in Editing & Publications from Georgetown University.
