Sylina Valdez

Sylina Valdez is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Director of Early Childhood Programs at the Texas Education Agency since January 2018. Valdez has a strong background in early childhood education, having previously held the roles of Interim Director of Early Childhood and Early Childhood Administrative Supervisor within the Austin Independent School District from August 2010 to January 2018, as well as serving as a Bilingual Instructional Coach and Bilingual Pre-K Teacher from 2003 to 2010. Sylina Valdez holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Hardin-Simmons University.
