Deana Love

Deana Love has a strong background in leadership and nonprofit work. Deana founded Texas Litter Control in 2012 and served as the Executive Director and President. Under their guidance, the organization grew to include three clinics and six adoption centers. Prior to this, they were the Executive Director of Spay/Houston from 2009 to 2012. Deana also held a board position at Adopt A Cat, where they developed and implemented fundraising strategies for the shelter. Additionally, Deana worked as a consultant at Take Charge Business Consulting, LLC, specializing in operations, risk, underwriting, and compliance. Deana served as President of IAFCI - Gulf Coast Chapter from 1997 to 2009, where they coordinated meetings, conferences, recruited members, and secured sponsors. Before entering the nonprofit sector, Deana held various leadership roles in the financial industry, including Vice President of Risk, Underwriting, Apps, and Project Management at Merchants Choice Card Services and Assistant Vice President at Retriever Payment Systems. In these positions, they oversaw risk management, developed best practices, implemented compliance measures, and managed large portfolios.

Deana Love attended Tomball High School from 1987 to 1991. Deana then went on to study Physics at Harris County Community College from 1991 to 1994.

Texas Litter Control

Texas Litter Control is a high quality, low cost veterinary clinic, adoption center, pet food bank, and shelter support program for companion animals. Our mission is to eliminate the suffering of companion pets in Texas by: educating the public on the importance of spaying/neutering and proper pet healthcare; providing a low cost solution available to the general public for spay and neuter and basic wellness services; providing extended pet healthcare to income and program qualified individuals; providing adoption options for fully vetted pets to the public; providing alternative solutions such as healthcare, food and other basic needs to pet owners considering surrendering a pet to a local shelter; providing a networking and educational forum for animal welfare organizations to work together; providing high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgery training for Veterinarians; and mentoring other animal welfare groups to open clinics in other under serviced areas.
