Richard E. Wainerdi has had a long and successful career at the Texas Medical Center. Richard E. began working there in 1984, serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer until 2012. In 2013, Wainerdi assumed the role of President Emeritus at the Texas Medical Center.
Richard E. Wainerdi earned a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1952. Richard E. then pursued a Master's Degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Pennsylvania State University between 1953 and 1955. Continuing their education, Wainerdi attended the Oak Ridge School of Reactor Technology in an undisclosed year to study Nuclear Science and Nuclear Reactor Engineering. Furthering their expertise, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1958.
