Deja Howell is currently serving as a WIC Nutritionist at the Houston Health Department since November 2022, where responsibilities include determining program eligibility, assigning nutritional risks, conducting laboratory evaluations, and providing nutrition education and breastfeeding counseling. Additionally, Deja supports clinic management and participates in quality assurance activities to benefit WIC recipients. Prior to this role, Deja worked as a Nutrition Technician at Texas Orthopedic Hospital beginning in January 2022 and completed a summer internship with the Houston Health Department Office of Chronic Disease, Health Education & Wellness from June 2019 to April 2022. Deja holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Pharmaceutical Studies with a focus on Dietetics/Dietitian from Texas Southern University, graduating in 2021.
