Matthew McCormick is a K-12 Policy Analyst at the Texas Public Policy Foundation since October 2022, previously serving as an IDEA Part C Policy Specialist at HHSC from March 2022 to September 2022. McCormick held a position as a Policy Fellow in the Office of Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. from June 2020 to May 2021, where responsibilities included meeting with constituents and advocacy groups and conducting bill research. McCormick earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Texas A&M University in 2021 and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from The University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, McCormick has teaching experience at South Texas Academy for Medical Professions, focusing on developing an English I curriculum and coordinating with the English Department. Early career experience includes an internship in the Office of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, managing Veterans Affairs case files and interacting with constituents.
