Ian Searcy

Ian Searcy has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of architecture and design. Ian is currently working as an Art Director at the Texas Society of Architects since 2023. Prior to this, they held the same role at The Architect's Newspaper from 2022 to the present.

Ian also has experience as a Freelance Creative Director starting from 2018. Additionally, they served as an Adjunct Professor at St. Edward's University from 2022 onwards.

Earlier in their career, Ian held the position of Creative Director & Director of Publications at Rice School of Architecture from 2015 to 2018, and also worked as a Studio Assistant from 2013 to 2016. Ian started their career as an Architectural Designer at SCHAUM/SHIEH Architects from 2013 to 2015.

Furthermore, Ian has worked as an Architectural Intern at Johnston Marklee & Assoc in 2012, and at WW Architecture in 2010. Their early work experience includes being a Senior Designer at Brooklyn Academy of Music from 2005 to 2007, and being the Owner of Chemistry Set Inc. from 2003 to 2005.

Ian Searcy obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Design from The University of Texas at Austin from 1999 to 2003. Ian then pursued a Master of Architecture (M. Arch.) degree in Architecture from Rice University from 2009 to 2013.
