Robert Bullard serves as the Director of the Bullard Center for Environmental & Climate Justice at Texas Southern University since January 2022, focusing on integrating education, science, and civic engagement for transformative change. Bullard has been a Distinguished Professor of Urban Planning at Texas Southern University and the Director of the Environmental and Climate Justice Center since October 2011. Previously, Bullard held the position of Ware Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Clark Atlanta University from August 1994 to August 2011, where the Environmental Justice Resource Center was founded. Additional academic experience includes roles as a Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Riverside (1989-1994) and as a Visiting Professor and Director of Research at UCLA (1988-1989). Robert Bullard earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from Iowa State University and has degrees in History and Government as well as Sociology from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University and Clark Atlanta University, respectively.
