Sceffers Ward has had extensive work experience in procurement services and coordination at both Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M University. At Texas Southern University, they began as a Procurement/Travel Card Coordinator in August 2010 and later became a Buyer in August 2013. In their role as a Buyer, they were responsible for processing purchasing transactions, selecting vendors, and analyzing purchase requisitions. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Procurement Services at Texas Southern University, starting in June 2022. At Prairie View A&M University, they worked as a Procurement/Travel Card Coordinator from September 2007 to July 2010 and as a Fixed Assets Accounting Assistant from April 2002 to September 2007.
