Shandon P. Neal has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of operations and management within academic institutions. Starting in 2002, Shandon worked as an Assistant General Manager with American Campus Communities, overseeing a residential facility for Prairie View A & M University. Responsibilities included budget control and staff training. From 2004 to 2010, Shandon served as the Assistant Director for Student and Residential Life at Prairie View A&M University, managing a one-stop-shop facility and collaborating on academic success and retention initiatives. Shandon then became the Director of Housing and Residence Life at Southern University until 2012, where they revamped and improved the program. In 2014, Shandon worked as the Director of Residence Life and Operations for Campus Living Villages, supervising day-to-day operations and establishing vendor contracts. Currently, Shandon serves as the Director of Operations for the Thomas F. Freeman Honors College at Texas Southern University, responsible for administrative and operational matters.
Shandon P. Neal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Prairie View A&M University, which was obtained from 1997 to 2001. From 2001 to 2003, Neal pursued a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Prairie View A&M University. Later, from 2008 to 2014, they completed a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Public Administration at Texas Southern University. Currently, Neal is studying for a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General - Higher Education at Texas Southern University, starting from 2023.
