Beth Thomas

Beth Thomas currently serves as the Director of the School of Art and Design at Texas State University since July 2022. Prior to this role, Beth held various positions at SUNY New Paltz from June 2013 to July 2022, including Director of Art Education, Chair of the Music Department, and Chair of the Art Department. Additional experience includes being an Associate Professor of Art Education and Graduate Coordinator of the Art Education Program at SUNY New Paltz from August 2010 to July 2022, and serving as Interim Graduate Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching Program at the Maryland Institute College of Art from July 2009 to June 2010. Beth's earlier career spans from 1994 to 2008 as a Visual Art Teacher at Marion City Schools, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Ohio State University Department of Art Education during 2006-2007. Beth holds a Ph.D. in Art Education and a Master's degree in Integrated Teaching and Learning from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Art Education from the University of Cincinnati.
