Matthew Carmichael

Matthew Carmichael currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Public Safety at Texas State University and as the Chief of Police for Leave No Victim Behind in Texas. In addition, Matthew holds the position of Executive Director for Leave No Victim Behind 501(c)(3). Prior experience includes serving as Chief of Police at the University of Oregon Police Department and the UC Davis Police Department, where responsibilities included managing a significant budget and overseeing numerous specialized units and programs. Earlier in Matthew’s career, roles included Police Sergeant at Pinole Police Department and various positions in the Vallejo Police Department and Napa Valley College Department of Public Safety. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Union Institute & University and an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Napa Valley College.
