Matthew Wright

Matthew Wright, CPM, currently serves as a Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies Advisory Council Member at Texas State University, contributing insights on policies and procedures related to recruitment, curriculum, and workforce needs. In addition, Matthew holds the position of Human Resources Director for the City of Buda, TX, overseeing various HR functions including recruitment, training, and compliance. Previous experience includes a lengthy tenure at the Austin Police Department, progressing through ranks from Police Officer to Police Lieutenant. Matthew Wright holds a Master of Science in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies and a Certified Public Manager® certificate from Texas State University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
