Terry Scott Bertling

Terry Scott Bertling is an Associate Professor of Practice at Texas State University, beginning this role in August 2018 after serving as a Senior Lecturer and adjunct Lecturer in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Bertling has extensive experience in journalism, previously working as the New Publications & Special Projects Editor and Travel Editor at the San Antonio Express-News from December 2012 to May 2018, where significant projects included coordinating a full-page history series for San Antonio's Tricentennial. Earlier experience includes roles as Features/Niche Products Editor at the same newspaper, Managing Editor at the El Paso Herald-Post, and Editor at The Huntsville Item. Bertling holds a Master's Degree in Communications Arts from the University of the Incarnate Word and a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Health/PE from Stephen F. Austin State University.
