Gaurav Karwa

Gaurav Karwa is an AI Research Engineer at Texas Tech University, focused on developing an advanced computer vision OCR system for processing historical images and building a multimodal AI Assistant. Prior experience includes serving as a Student Tutor for Texas Tech Athletics, where motivation and academic support were provided to student-athletes, and as an NLP & Retrieval Specialist, where a Retrieval-Augmented Generation AI application was created to enhance procurement efficiency for USAF military contractors. Gaurav also worked as a Student Assistant in the Hospitality & Retail Management department and as a Cloud Backend Developer at BrainScale Inc. Gaurav is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at Texas Tech University, expecting to graduate in May 2025.
