Lyn Renfro Jackson has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries and roles. Lyn began their career in 1988 as an Assistant Vice President in Loan Review at MCorp (MBank) before joining the Texas Department of Banking in 1989. At the Texas Department of Banking, Lyn served as a Financial Examiner III and later as an Assistant Regional Director, where they managed a team of bank examiners and conducted examinations.
In 1997, Lyn moved to Texas Bank Weatherford as a Vice President of Finance, where they managed risk and liquidity, evaluated bond purchases and sales, and oversaw repurchase agreements. After two years, they transitioned to First Bank & Trust as an Assistant Vice President in Loan Review.
Starting in 2000, Lyn worked at American Bank of Commerce as the Director of Loan Operations. In this role, they directed department operations, oversaw the reorganization of loan operations and documentation origination departments, and managed software. Lyn held this position until 2016.
In 2001, Lyn briefly taught 7th-grade at Brownfield ISD before becoming a 5th-grade teacher at Lubbock ISD in 2002.
Lyn's extensive experience in education led their to Texas Tech University in 2016, where they became the Program Manager of the Philanthropy Initiative at the College of Visual & Performing Arts. After three years, they were promoted to Director of Finance and Administration at the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts. Lyn is currently working at Texas Tech University as the Senior Director of Finance and Administration, a role they started in 2023. Overall, Lyn's work experience demonstrates their ability to adapt and succeed in various roles in the finance and education sectors.
Lyn Renfro Jackson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance & Banking, which was obtained from Texas Tech University between 1980 and 1984. Lyn also pursued further education at the SW Graduate School of Banking from 1990 to 1992, where they earned a Graduate Degree in Banking Class of XXXIII. Additionally, Lyn obtained a Texas Educator Certificate from the Texas State Board of Education in March 2002, and a Commissioned Bank Examiner certification from the Texas Department of Banking in 1987.
