Missy Jenkins has a diverse work experience in various roles at different universities. Melissa (Missy) currently holds the position of Director in the Office of Research Development & Communications at Texas Tech University. Prior to that, they served as an Associate Director and Assistant Director at the same university. Melissa (Missy) also worked as a Program Manager at Texas Tech University. Before joining Texas Tech University, Missy worked as a Coordinator of Research Development at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Melissa (Missy) also served as an Assistant Director in the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs at the same university. Missy began their career as a Manager and Event Coordinator at The University of Tennessee, Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy. Melissa (Missy) also worked in the Office of Alumni Affairs at The University of Tennessee, where they coordinated special events and managed the President's Residence.

Missy Jenkins has a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which they obtained from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science in Education from the same university between 2002 and 2008. Missy Jenkins also holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Stetson University, which they completed from 1995 to 1999.
