Mike Mathew

Mike Mathew has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Mike is the Co-Founder of Presto Assistant, a web-based tool for fine arts administrators and teachers. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Text-Em-All, where they developed desktop and mobile apps using ReactJS, React Native, Material-UI, and node.js.

In the education sector, Mike has held various roles as a Director of Percussion at Forney High School, Berkner High School, and North Mesquite High School. Mike also served as a Director of Percussion/Assistant Band Director at Crandall High School, Trinity High School, DeSoto High School, and Fossil Ridge High School. During their tenure, they oversaw percussion programs, designed curriculum and materials, managed inventory, and participated in band activities.

Mike's experience also includes working as an Assistant Percussion Specialist at Berkner High School, where they worked alongside renowned percussionist Bob Johnson. Mike built and maintained a private lesson studio and assisted with teaching and organizing ensembles. Throughout their work as an educator, Mike has had opportunities for performances and competitions, including showcases at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention.

Mike Mathew has a strong educational background in music education. Mike obtained a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce from 1996 to 2002. Following this, they pursued a Master of Music Education from the same university from 2009 to 2016. Additionally, they attended Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland, TX, where they obtained their high school diploma from 1992 to 1996.

In terms of additional certifications, Mike Mathew acquired a Texas Educator Certificate from the State Board for Educator Certification in September 2002. Mike also pursued further education in Front End Engineering, receiving a Front End Engineering Certification from The Iron Yard in 2015.
