Irene Trejos

Irene Trejos is currently serving as Senior Technical Manager for Standards at Textile Exchange since August 2023. Prior to this role, Irene held various positions at Preferred by Nature from October 2018 to July 2023, including Senior Program Manager and Program Manager, focusing on agricultural certification and quality monitoring. Irene's responsibilities involved global oversight of sustainable agriculture certification programs and maintaining compliance with ISO/IEC standards. Additionally, Irene worked at Rainforest Alliance from October 2011 to September 2018 in various capacities, including Agriculture Specialist II and Agriculture Staff Auditor, providing expertise in policy implementation, quality assurance, and certification processes for sustainable agriculture. Irene's early experience includes research and project collaboration at Universidad de Costa Rica and involvement in projects related to sustainable development. Irene holds a degree in Tropical Biology from Universidad de Costa Rica and has completed coursework towards an M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management and Production Technologies.
