Josée Turcotte

Josée Turcotte is the Senior Vice-President, Corporate Secretary and Head of Governance of HSBC Bank Canada where she leads HSBC’s Corporate Governance Secretariat and serves on the Bank’s Executive Committee. Josée also serves on HSBC Group’s Corporate Governance Executive Committee. In her role, she is responsible for the oversight and implementation of applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards for HBCA Bank and its subsidiaries. She also contributes to the development of global governance requirements that apply to HSBC Group’s global network. Josée holds a Master of Laws degree in business law from Osgoode Hall Law School, a Civil Law degree with honours and a Juris Doctor degree with honours from the University of Ottawa. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and of the Barreau du Québec. She has taught at both Osgoode Hall Law School and at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa, and has been a speaker at many conferences and events over the years. Josée currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Downsview Aerospace Innovation & Research and has previously served on the Board of: l’Alliance Française de Toronto; Governance Professionals of Canada; as Chair of the Board of The Canadian MedicAlert Foundation and as Chair of the Ontario Bar Association - Public Sector Lawyers Section. Josée and her husband James are proud parents of a daughter who has been fortunate to attend TFS since PK.
