George Avgerinos has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. George started their career as a Sr. Scientist at Biogen Idec in 1981. George then worked as a Process Development/Manufacturing Manager at Collaborative Research from 1985 until 1990. From 1987 to 1991, they served as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Tufts University. In 1991, they joined AbbVie as the Divisional Vice President, Global Biologics Process and Manufacturing, a role they held until 2013. During their tenure at AbbVie, they also served as the Divisional Vice President, Humira Franchise from 2008 to 2011. In 2013, they joined Fortress Biotecnology as the Senior Vice President of Biologics Operations. In 2016, they moved on to TG Therapeutics, Inc., where they took on the role of SVP Biologics Operations. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Chief Technology Officer at Flame Biosciences.
George Avgerinos earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biophysics from the University of Connecticut, where they attended from 1971 to 1975. Following this, they pursued their Ph.D. in Biochemical and Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completing their studies from 1977 to 1981.
