Mark Burton

Mark Burton is an experienced geophysicist with a solid background in operations and data processing. From March 2012 to December 2019, Mark served as a QC Geophysicist at PGS, overseeing acquisition quality control and on-board processing. Currently, Mark works at TGS, having held titles such as IO Field Geophysicist and Senior Operations Geophysicist since August 2025. Mark previously worked at Geotrace Technologies as a Processing Geophysicist, where responsibilities included processing marine seismic data and developing software tools. Other notable roles include Project Geophysicist positions with Canadian Seabed Research Ltd and GeoScott Exploration Consult, where Mark led survey teams and prepared geophysical equipment. Mark began the career as a Junior Assistant Geologist with Geological Survey after earning a B.Sc. in Geophysics from Memorial University of Newfoundland between 2002 and 2007.
