Jean-Yann THIBAULT has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Jean-Yann has held various roles in different companies, starting with CEGELEC Kourou as a Launch campaign Engineer from June 1993 to November 1995. Then they worked at Teuchos as a Design office Engineer from November 1995 to September 1996. Following that, they joined Aerospatiale as a Mechanical & Thermal Architect - Telecommunication Satellites from September 1996 to April 2001. Jean-Yann then worked at Soditech as the Director of the Space Division from April 2001 to May 2003. After that, they joined Alcatel Space/Thales as the Responsible of System Engineering methods from May 2003 to September 2004. Jean-Yann then moved to Thales Alenia Space and held various roles, including Head of Mechanical & Thermal Architecture - BL Telecom from September 2004 to February 2010, Head of "Design Authority" Department - BL Telecom from February 2010 to February 2011, Head of Telecom Satellites Architecture Department - BL Telecom from February 2011 to January 2014, Director, Mechanical, Thermal and Technology Engineering from January 2014 to January 2018, Director, NorthStar Program from January 2018 to June 2022, and currently holds the position of Director of Operations starting from February 2022 at Thales Alenia Space.

Jean-Yann Thibault obtained their Engineer's degree in Aeronautic and Space from ISAE-SUPAERO from 1989 to 1992. Jean-Yann also obtained another Engineer's degree in Aeronautic and Space from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace during the same period. In 2016, they completed the "Senior Leadership Programme" from Thales.
