Jan Ottens

Jan Ottens is a Senior Mechanical Designer at Thales Nederland BV since September 1997, specializing in procurement support for composites and radomes and authoring specifications for the "Civil Works" of the Smart-L EWC radar for the Royal Netherlands Air Force. Previously, Jan held the role of Product Manager at Georg Fischer WAGA NV from September 1996 to September 1997, focusing on the development of the Multi Joint 3000 series couplings. Early in Jan's career, from January 1984 to January 1996, Jan worked as a Mechanical Constructor at Nefit Industrial BV, where the full design and development of the PE-POM gas shut-off Valve 2000 for British Gas was accomplished, receiving an honorable mention in the Neste Forma Finlandia competition and recognition for good industrial design in 1992. Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Windesheim and a PHBO degree in Measurement and Control Technology from HAN University of Applied Sciences.
