Michiel van der Korst

Michiel van der Korst is an experienced professional with a strong background in operations, engineering governance, and quality improvement within the Thales Group. Serving as the Director of Operations for the Business Line Above Water Systems since October 2015, Michiel oversees global activities in the Naval mission systems market. Previously, Michiel held roles such as Director Improvement & Quality for Thales Naval & NL, focusing on business transformation and enhancing competitiveness. With extensive experience in engineering leadership, including a role as Director Engineering Governance & Skills, Michiel has contributed significantly to engineering transformation initiatives. Earlier career roles at Thales and Philips included management positions in software engineering and system architecture. Michiel holds a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Amsterdam and has advanced education in Software Technology, alongside certifications in Lean Six Sigma.
