Alison Young McIex

Alison Young MCIEx has extensive experience in trade, investment, and consultancy, currently serving as a Lead Generation Specialist at Thames Freeport since June 2025, where the focus is on clean energy technologies and advanced logistics. Alison also directs AAYoung Consulting, providing expertise in export promotion and market entry strategies with a specialization in the Middle East. Previous roles include Associate Director of Local Public Services at techUK, Head of Global Investment at Connected Places Catapult, and Trade & Investment Advisor for the UK Department for International Trade (DIT). Alison has a background in education and interim management, beginning a career as a Teacher of English in Moscow and holding various roles in management and operations. Alison holds a Master of Arts in Russian Studies from The University of Edinburgh.
