Superintendent Michael Greenwood was appointed as Local Policing Area Commander for Windsor and Maidenhead in August 2020, having been Deputy LPA Commander for the previous two years.
Supt Greenwood joined Thames Valley Police in May 1993 and has held a number of operational and local policing roles including as a firearms commander, authorized firearms officer, explosive search dog handler, police search advisor and neighbourhood inspector.
He has worked on many large scale events in the Windsor area including state visits, Her Majesty the Queen Mother’s funeral and the 2012 Olympics, where he led the counter terrorism search operation at the rowing event at Eton Dorney Lake.
