Guneeta Singh Bhalla

Founder & Executive Director at The 1947 Partition Archive

Guneeta Singh Bhalla is a seasoned physicist and founder of The 1947 Partition Archive, a crowdsourced project dedicated to preserving life stories related to the Partition of South Asia. With extensive experience in scientific research, Bhalla has held positions as a physicist postdoctoral fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California at Berkeley, and a research assistant at the University of Florida. In addition to academic roles, Bhalla co-created the Covid-19 Self Reporting Tool and served on the board of Seven Council Fires Arts, promoting indigenous American arts. An advocate for sustainability, Bhalla conducted a feasibility study for a biodiesel plant and contributed to a sustainability newsletter while at the University of Florida, where a PhD in Physics was earned.
