Mary Prior KC has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Mary is currently the Vice Chair of The Criminal Bar Association, a position they have held since September 2023. Prior to this role, they worked at 36Crime as the Leading Criminal Silk in the Legal 500 starting in September 2019. Mary has also been actively involved with Women in Criminal Law - Midlands, serving as Co Chair. In addition, they have held the position of KC and Head of Team at The 36 Group since September 2010. Mary's earlier experience includes being a Member and advocacy trainer at Gray's Inn starting in 1990 and a Senior Crown Prosecutor at the Crown Prosecution Service from November 1990 to May 1996. Most recently, Mary served as the Chair of the Midland Circuit Social Mobility Programme from April 2019 to October 2023.
Mary Prior KC began their education in 1989 at the Inns of Court School of Law, where they pursued a degree in Law. Mary completed the program in 1990, earning a BVC qualification. Additionally, Mary studied at the Chelmer Institute, now known as Anglia Ruskin University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
