Bill Adair

Bill Adair is the Knight Professor of the Practice of Journalism and Public Policy at Duke University, where Bill teaches journalism and leads a research project on automating fact-checking. Bill is also the founding editor of The 9th Street Journal, which covers news of Durham and North Carolina politics. Prior to their current roles, Bill served as a reporter and Washington Bureau Chief at the Tampa Bay Times, where Bill founded and edited the Pulitzer Prize-winning fact-checking site PolitiFact. Adair began their journalism career as a reporter at Journal Newspapers in Fairfax County, Virginia, after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Arizona State University.
