Jo Hooper

Jo Hooper has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Jo started their career as a Trainee Accountant at Hysons, Chartered Accountants in 2005. Jo then moved to Baker Tilly where they worked as an Accounts Junior for a year. In 2008, they joined Simplyhealth as a Management Accountant and later transitioned to the role of Tax Accountant. At Simplyhealth, Jo worked their way up to become the Risk Manager, overseeing the Risk Management Framework. Jo then took on the role of Direct Tax Manager, responsible for various tax matters including corporation tax and tax training. Jo'smost recent position was at Simplyhealth as the Group Tax Manager, where they had oversight of all group tax matters and provided support for adhoc projects while also engaging in business partnering. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Tax and Payroll at The AA.

Jo Hooper attended the Chartered Institute of Taxation from 2015 to 2017 and obtained a certification as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) in 2018. Prior to this, from 2008 to 2010, they attended the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and became an Associate member. In addition, Jo Hooper holds certifications from the Institute of Risk Management and the Association of Accounting Technicians.
