Karl W.'s work experience begins in 2012, where they served as an Assistant to the Director for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Brazil Initiative. In this role, they assisted in the development of collaborative research and outreach projects focused on Brazil. Karl also worked as an Outreach Assistant in the Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies Program at the university, managing social media accounts, compiling newsletters, and maintaining a departmental blog.

In 2014, Karl joined the Municipal Secretariat for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, City Hall of Belo Horizonte, as a Communications Intern for a few months.

Later in 2014, they joined The Advisory Board Company as a Senior Latin American Marketing Associate. In 2016, they transitioned to the role of Senior Analyst for the Global Centre for Nursing Executives, where they worked until 2019. In this role, they conducted research, led interviews with healthcare executives, and delivered presentations on nursing topics to hospital leaders globally.

Since 2019, Karl has been working at The Advisory Board Company as a Research Consultant for the Nursing Executive Center and the Clinical Best Practice Collaborative. In this role, they lead research teams, conducts interviews with clinical and operational executives, delivers presentations on various healthcare topics, and plans nurse executive round tables.

In 2022, Karl joined The Health Management Academy as a Research Director, where they currently work.

Karl W. pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Latin American, Caribbean, & Iberian Studies, Portuguese, & Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2009 to 2013. In 2011 to 2012, they attended the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais to study Letras.
