Melissa Heagney-Bayliss is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in the media industry. Currently serving as a journalist at The Age since December 2021, Melissa previously held the position of senior journalist at Domain from January 2016 to December 2021. Earlier roles include communications manager at Toll Group and entertainment journalist at The New Daily, both in late 2015, and general manager of communications at Bicycle Network from July 2013 to August 2015, where responsibilities included editing Ride On Magazine. Additional experience encompasses serving as communications and media advisor at the National Heart Foundation of Australia Victoria and media advisor at Cancer Council Victoria. Prior to that, Melissa worked as a media officer for Victoria Police and as a journalist for Fairfax Media for over a decade. Melissa began her career as an advertising copywriter at 3AW. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Deakin University.
