Michael Bachelard

Michael Bachelard is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in investigative reporting and editorial roles at The Age since 2015, including positions as Senior Writer, Investigations Editor, and Deputy Editor. Bachelard served as Foreign Editor for both The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald from 2017 to 2019, and previously worked as a Jakarta correspondent and investigative reporter for nearly a decade. Additionally, Bachelard held a board member position with Jakarta Foreign Correspondent's Club in 2014. Prior experience includes serving as Business Editor and workplace writer for The Australian from 1998 to 2006. Michael Bachelard holds an Arts (Honours) degree in English and History from The Australian National University, completed between 1987 and 2000.
