Sam Lee

Director of Training, Lead Instructor at The Allender Center

Sam Lee graduated from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology with a Master in Divinity in 2007 and a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2013. Sam served in pastoral ministries for over 10 years before stepping into the counseling field. In his work with The Allender Center, Sam facilitates groups for the Training Certificate and Story Workshop. Sam currently resides in Austin, TX, and engages in story work through his private practice, Sam Lee Counseling. The combination of divinity and psychology allows Sam to offer a unique and integrative perspective stemming from both domains. As a second-generation Chinese-American, Sam also navigates a third domain: the in-between space of conflicting identity differentiators, between social, cultural, gender, and historic dimensions. Sam has found traversing the “in-between” space to be where the therapeutic work happens.
