Eric Carrera

Eric Carrera is the current Human Resources Director at The Alliance. Prior to this, they served as the Interim HR Manager/Director for Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston from December 2016 to March 2017, and as the Human Resources Manager for BE A CHAMPION, INC. from December 2015 to September 2016. In their role at BE A CHAMPION, INC., Eric increased organizational compliance by rewriting the employee handbook, onboarded over 200 employees in four cities over a two-month timeframe, and improved efficiency by over 25% by creating an upper-management weekly meeting to discuss strategic improvements. Eric has also served as a Human Resources Generalist for BakerRipley from November 2012 to June 2015.

Eric Carrera's educational career includes an MBA in finance, accounting, management, marketing, and operations management from the University of Houston's C.T. Bauer College of Business, as well as a LMSW in clinical studies, administration, policy analysis, ethics, macro-practice, and social work from the University of Houston's Graduate College of Social Work. Eric also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology with a sociology minor from the University of Houston. In addition, Eric is certified by the HR Certification Institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Eric is also SHRM-certified as a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and as a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

They work with Gislaine Williams - Community Relations Director, Vacant - Development Director, and Programs - Programs & Services. Eric Carrera reports to Daniel Stoecker, President & Chief Executive Officer.
