Rafael Castillo-Triana has extensive work experience in the equipment financing and leasing industry. RAFAEL worked as the CEO of Latín América and Emerging Markets at The Alta Group, where they provided management consulting services and training for players in the industry. RAFAEL was also a Principal at the company. Rafael served as the Chairman of the Middle East Leasing Summit, a significant event for the equipment leasing and financing industry in the Middle East and North Africa. RAFAEL was the CEO and President of FTAA CONSULTING, INC., a multinational practice of business law that represented multinational corporations in emerging markets. RAFAEL also served as a consultant and trainer for USAID and the East West Management Institute. Rafael was a guest speaker at the Leasing Association of Kenya and the Shanghai Leasing Association-Zhejang University-Tulane University. RAFAEL played a key role as the Chairman of the Emerging Markets Task Force for the Rail Working Group for extension of the Cape Town Convention. Rafael provided their expertise as a consultant for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Ministry of Finance in Kenya to improve the legal and regulatory framework for equipment leasing.

Rafael Castillo-Triana completed their high school education at Colegio Helvetia from 1963 to 1973. RAFAEL then pursued multiple degrees in various fields at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Universidad Javeriana from 1974 to 1978. RAFAEL obtained a Juris Doctor degree in International Business, Trade, and Tax Law at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, a Master's degree in Socio Economic Sciences at both Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Universidad Javeriana, and a Doctorate degree in Law at Universidad Javeriana.
