Dwight A. McBride, PhD, currently serves as the Executive Director of the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, & Equity and as Senior Advisor to the Chancellor at Washington University in St. Louis since August 2023. McBride is also the Gerald Early Distinguished Professor at the same institution. In addition, McBride is a member of the Board of Directors at Con Edison and holds fellow status at the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, along with membership in the Council on Foreign Relations. McBride serves as a trustee for the Institute of International Education and is an advisory council member for the Princeton University Program in Gender & Sexuality Studies. McBride's involvement extends to the American Antiquarian Society and the Association for a Better New York Foundation. Previously, McBride was a trustee for the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities and served as President and University Professor at The New School until August 2023. McBride earned an AB in English and a Certificate in African American Studies from Princeton University, followed by a Master of Arts and a PhD in English from UCLA.
