Kelsey Ensign

Kelsey Ensign is a Humanities Policy Fellow at the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, where responsibilities include advancing interdisciplinary commissions on democracy reform and the economy through policy research, program review, and publication editing. Prior experience as a Doctoral Researcher at Vanderbilt University involved extensive collection and analysis of historical materials, complemented by a position as a Teaching Assistant that facilitated undergraduate discussions on historical debate. Kelsey served as a Social Studies Teacher with Teach For America, educating 4th and 5th graders, and completed a Research Fellowship at the University of Richmond focused on language and racial identity during the Black Power movement. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Arts in American History from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Richmond.
