Dorothea Ioannou

Dorothea Ioannou is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the marine insurance industry, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at The American P&I Club since February 2005. Previously, Dorothea held key positions including Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, Global Business Development Director, and Managing/Regional Business Development Director at the Piraeus Office. In these roles, responsibilities included overseeing commercial strategy, business development initiatives, and daily operations, as well as managing client relations across Southern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Prior to joining The American P&I Club, Dorothea gained valuable experience in claims and legal departments, as well as in the legal field as a lawyer and legal intern. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctorate from St. John's University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Queens College.
