Gordon Bower has extensive experience in various roles and industries. Gordon started their career in 1998 as a Seismic Data Analyst at the Alaska Volcano Observatory. From 2000 to 2005, they worked as a Laboratory Manager and Mass Spectrometer Operator at the International Arctic Research Center. In 2005, they served as a Research Analyst at the Alaska Mental Health Board. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as an Alchemist in the Office of Planning Analysis and Institutional Research at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Gordon then transitioned to the Idaho National Laboratory, where they worked as a Statistician from 2011 to 2017. In 2017, they joined Excelsior Statistics and Optimization as a Statistician and also served as the Director of Institutional Research at Flathead Valley Community College from 2017 to 2021. Additionally, since 1995, they have been a Bridge Teacher and Director at the American Contract Bridge League.
Gordon Bower pursued higher education from 1993 to 1998, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Statistics and Bachelor's degrees in Geology and Mathematics.
