Previously, Rachel held multiple roles at Wilkins Miller Hieronymus, LLC from January 2006 to March 2013, including Internal Audit and Compliance Manager and Senior Accountant, focusing on audits for non-profit organizations and providing accounting and tax services. Early career experience includes working as an Accountant at Cooper/T. Smith, where Rachel was promoted from a college intern. Rachel graduated with a BSBA in Accounting from the University of South Alabama in 2006 and specializes in timber and real estate management industries.

The American Equity Underwriters, Inc. is the program administrator of the American Longshore Mutual Association Ltd (ALMA), a group self-insurance fund authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide USL&H coverage for the liabilities of its members under the United States Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. As program administrator, AEU provides services such as claims handling, loss control, and underwriting, as well as longshore consulting and leadership training. In addition to USL&H coverage, AEU offers State Act workers’ compensation coverage on PMA and Great American paper and maritime employers’ liability through Lloyd’s of London syndicate Novae paper. With a history rooted in maritime, AEU is keenly aware of the challenges faced by waterfront employers and has carefully built services and teams to directly meet those needs.
