Michael Herndon

Michael Herndon currently serves as an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Curriculum Development, Assessment Review, and Teacher Trainer at the U.S. Department of State since August 2024, while also holding the position of Academic Dean at The American School Foundation. With a diverse educational background, including a Master of Arts in Teaching focused on TESOL from the University of Southern California and ongoing studies for a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration of International Schools at The College of New Jersey, Michael has extensive experience in curriculum design and teacher training across various educational institutions. Previous roles include IB PYP Teacher and Virtual Learning Designer at Churchill School & College, and Instructional Designer and Department Head at Knox County Schools, where initiatives included developing project-based curricula and professional development for educators. Additionally, Michael contributed to the U.S. Department of State's English for Specific Purposes programs in various capacities, creating English training programs for law enforcement and enhancing assessment methodologies.
