Shereen Shaker

Shereen Shaker is the Vice President of Management and Operations at The American University in Cairo. Shereen has over fifteen years of experience in corporate real estate and facility management. Shereen has worked for IBM, Alcatel-Lucent, and Procter & Gamble.

Ms. Shaker started their career at Procter & Gamble in 2003 as a real estate and facilities regional team leader for central Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In this role, they managed office relocations and housing projects in several countries, including Kiev, Moscow, Cairo, Prague, Casablanca, Budapest, and Beirut. Shereen also oversaw capital management for facilities and budgets for the region.

In 2011, Ms. Shaker was promoted to start-up leader for the Planning Centre New Building at Procter & Gamble. In this role, they were responsible for the program management of the new office startup at Cairo Festival City for the Middle East Africa Planning Centre. This included overseeing the construction fit-out, IT infrastructure, and procurement for the new facility startup as well as the ongoing IT and Facilities services. The new office opened in November 2012 and was considered best-in-class.

Ms. Shaker left Procter & Gamble in 2013 to join Alcatel-Lucent as their regional real estate and facilities leader. Shereen held this position until May 2016 when they joined The American University in Cairo as their VP of Management and Operations.

Shereen Shaker has a Master's degree in Real Estate & Construction Management from the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business. Shereen also has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Design from The American University in Cairo. Shereen has GCEs from New English School Kuwait.

They work with Khaled Tarabieh - University Architect, Noha El-Mikawy - Dean, School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, and Amir Habib - Associate Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Shereen Shaker reports to Ehab Abdel-Rahman, Provost and Acting President.
