Janine Schuurman has extensive experience in the biotech and research industries. Janine is currently the President of The Antibody Society and has been a Board Member since 2020. Janine previously served as the Vice President of The Antibody Society from 2022 to 2023. In addition, they are an Advisor at Bioqube Ventures, a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Cartography Biosciences, and an Independent Biotech Consultant at Lust for Life Science B.V.
Janine's earlier career includes various roles at Genmab, where they served as the Senior Vice President, Head Antibody Research & Technology from 2021 to 2023, the Corporate Vice President Antibody Research and Technology from 2018 to 2021, the Vice President of Research from 2014 to 2017, the Director of Strategic Research from 2011 to 2013, and the Associate Director of Research from 2000 to 2010.
Before joining Genmab, Janine worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Utrecht University from 1998 to 2000 and at Sanquin from 1997 to 1998. Janine also obtained their PhD at Sanquin, where they worked as a PhD student from 1992 to 1997. Additionally, they are a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Keystone Symposia on Molecular & Cellular Biology since 2019.
Janine Schuurman earned their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Immunology from the University of Amsterdam from 1992 to 1997. Prior to that, they studied Medical Biology at the University of Amsterdam from 1987 to 1992.

The Antibody Society is an international, non-profit trade association representing individuals and organizations involved in antibody-related research and development. The Society has a variety of initiatives and working groups focused on improving the antibody field.
