Wendy Shutter's work experience includes serving as the Director of Business Services at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler since 2010, where they supervise various divisions such as food co-packing, document destruction, janitorial services, and transportation services. Wendy is also the Director of Glen Copack, Franklin Street Gallery, Southern Tier Industries, Seneca Shine, and SeeUs Commercial Cleaning, starting in 2010 and 2020 respectively. Later, they completed a Master of Arts degree in Corporate Communication from the same institution from 1989 to 1991.

The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler provides supports and services to nearly 2,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism, and their families, primarily in Chemung and Schuyler Counties but does span across 18 counties, from Waverly in Tioga County, to West Seneca in Erie County. These services include housing supports, clinical supports, community supports and day services, and employment support services. The Arc is committed to promoting full inclusion and participation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism in their communities throughout their lifetime.
