Maritza Colon-Diaz

Program Director of Family Supports & Recreation at THE ARC OF OPPORTUNITY IN NORTH CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS INC

Maritza Colon-Diaz has worked her entire career helping those in need. She worked with victims of domestic abuse as an advocate and case manager. Mari is bilingual and understands that the Hispanic community is a growing and under-serviced minority in Worcester. She worked at Centro, INC working with people with disabilities alongside the Department of Developmental Services. Later, she worked for the Department of Children and Family where she continued her advocacy for disenfranchisement as a Social Worker. Now, as the Program Director of Family Support and Recreation, she plans to continue to further advocate for people with disabilities.

Maritza Colon-Diaz studied her undergraduate at the Inter-American University where she pursued Psychology as her major. While at the university she became part of the National Honor Society in Puerto Rico graduating Magna Cum Laude with honors.
