Greg Chaffin

Greg Chaffin is a seasoned professional in national security and foreign policy, currently serving as Principal at The Asia Group since April 2023. Prior to this role, Chaffin was the National Security Advisor for the U.S. House of Representatives from February 2021 to April 2023 and previously held the position of Vice President at The Asia Group from December 2018 to February 2021. Experience also includes an extensive tenure at the Pentagon, where Chaffin served as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs and as Country Director for Korea from January 2015 to December 2018. Earlier roles encompass Project Director and Manager at The National Bureau of Asian Research and a Research Specialist position at the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy, University of London. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in National Security Policy Studies from Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Rochester.
