Atreyi Kankanhalli

Atreyi Kankanhalli has extensive work experience in the field of information systems and academia. Atreyi is currently a Provost's Chair Professor at the National University of Singapore, a position they have held since January 2020. Prior to this, they served as the AIS Region 3 Vice President at the Association for Information Systems from July 2019 onwards.

At National University of Singapore's Department of Information Systems, Atreyi held various roles including Professor, Deputy Head (Research and Administration), Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor. Atreyi started as an Assistant Professor in July 2003 and was promoted to Associate Professor in January 2010. From July 2011 to June 2016, Atreyi also served as the Assistant Dean at the School of Computing.

Earlier in their career, Atreyi worked as a Project Consultant at the Indian Institute of Science from 1998 to 1999. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at the Institute of Systems Science from 1990 to May 1997. Atreyi began their career as a Software Engineer at CDAC from 1988 to 1989.

Atreyi Kankanhalli holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the National University of Singapore, which they obtained between 1999 and 2003. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1986 to 1987. Their undergraduate studies were completed at the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, where they earned their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electrical Engineering from 1982 to 1986.
