Founded in 2025, The Asylum Project is a grassroots organization providing sanctuary and support to U.S. citizens fleeing state-based persecution, especially LGBTQ+ individuals, BIPOC communities, and people with disabilities.

Our mission is focused and urgent: we offer safe housing within the European Union for those whose safety is threatened by injustice, discrimination, or government harm. For many, this isn’t about relocation—it’s about survival.

Through the power of community and social media, we’ve crowdfunded our first campaigns and are currently raising funds for a permanent safe house in Portugal. This space will serve as a lifeline for individuals with nowhere else to turn.

Led by founder Jonathan Jones—whose widely shared educational videos have guided thousands through the emigration process—The Asylum Project combines practical resources with personal empowerment. Our work is growing, and so is the movement.

With your support, we can expand access to shelter, legal aid, and hope for those searching for a way out.

We’re not just offering escape—we’re offering the freedom to live authentically, without fear.
